Rev. Fr. Pawel M. Hrebenko was born in Lubin, Poland. He is one of six children. His home parish is Sacred Heart Church in Lubin, where he attended the parish's relgious eduation program as a child. He also attended the Salesian Oratory where his desire to become a priest was nutured by the Salesian Fathers and Sisters. Following graduation from high school he completed his philosophy in the Salesian Major Seminary in Lodz, before making the decision to serve the church in the United States. He studied English as a second language at St. John Fisher Seminary in Stamford in 1999. Fr. Hrebenko was later assigned to the Archdiocesan St. Joseph Seminary in Yonkers, NY where he completed his studies with STB (from St. Thomas Aquinas University in Rome) and M.Div. in theology. Following his graduation he was ordained in 2004. It is worth to mention that Fr. Hrebenko was assigned as a deacon to Holy Name of Jesus for his summer internship in 2003. He also celebrated his Solemn First Mass at Holy Name Church following his ordination. Before coming to Holy Name he served St. Ann Parish in Brigeport, St. Margerite Bourgeys Parish in Brookfield, St. Rose of Lima in Newtown and St. John Fisher Seminary as a Spiritual Director to our Diocesan seminarians.
